Recently, Huahong Water Services Group held a training session to promote and implement the group standard “Technical Specifications for Identifying Safety Hazards in Urban Domestic Wastewater Treatment Facilities,” with the aim of enhancing the group’s occupational safety management at wastewater treatment plants and ensuring the stable operation of its wastewater treatment projects.
The training was delivered by Hu Yuankuo, one of the drafters of the group standard and Executive Dean of the Technical Research Institute of Huahong Water Services Group. More than 200 participants, including technical core personnel and staff in safety‑production‑related roles, attended both online and offline.

During this training session, the core principles of group standards were systematically explained. Drawing on the specific characteristics of the wastewater treatment plants under Huahong Water Services Group, the session focused on dissecting risk‑identification methodologies for critical processes, including wastewater treatment, pipeline networks, pump stations, and sludge management. In addition, real‑world accident case studies were used to provide an in-depth analysis of practical guidelines for identifying and mitigating safety hazards. Participants engaged in discussions on safety‑related measures, such as process control and equipment maintenance and operation.
The training emphasized that the issuance of this group standard provides scientific guidance for ensuring safe operations at wastewater treatment plants. Huahong Water Services Group is one of the participating organizations in drafting this standard, and its affiliated plants are required to rigorously align with the standard’s requirements, with particular focus on strengthening preventive and control measures in high-risk areas, conducting self-inspections and rectifications, and establishing long-term management mechanisms. The Group will dispatch dedicated inspection teams to project sites to provide guidance on hazard identification and remediation, thereby promoting the comprehensive implementation of workplace safety.
