United as One, Weathering the Storm Together—Bóbái Branch Fully Mobilizes to Tackle Typhoon “Maysak”

Affected by the outer circulation of this year’s No. 10 typhoon, “Maysak,” Bobai County experienced sustained strong winds and heavy rainfall on July 6. At the Songwang Town Wastewater Treatment Plant, extensive flooding occurred across the plant site, while water levels in the rivers surrounding the Huangling and Langping wastewater treatment plants surged, with floodwaters advancing toward the facilities. As a result, the wastewater treatment infrastructure and stable, compliant operations are now facing significant safety risks.
Following the emergency, Wei Chun, Deputy Director of the Group’s Operations Department and General Manager of the Bobai Branch, immediately issued the order: “Cut off power and open circuit breakers at once, prioritizing the safety of personnel and equipment and property!” In light of the reservoir’s flood discharge, the Bobai Branch, under the guidance of the Bobai Housing and Urban–Rural Development Bureau, promptly activated its comprehensive flood‑control and emergency‑rescue contingency plan. Despite the exhaustion from daytime flood‑fighting efforts, all employees quickly assembled, dividing into two emergency response teams to rush to the Songwang, Huangling, and Langping wastewater treatment plants, racing against time to dismantle critical production equipment—such as electrical distribution and automated control systems—and relocate it to higher ground for safekeeping. After several hours of nonstop work, all on‑site emergency measures were fully implemented, and all safety hazards were eliminated. Once the water level receded, the rescue teams immediately began clearing the site and commissioning the machinery, restoring the wastewater treatment plants to normal operations.
In handling this recent extreme weather event, the Bobai Branch responded swiftly and implemented comprehensive, well‑coordinated measures. Its solid and effective emergency response and rescue efforts have earned high recognition and full affirmation from higher‑level authorities. Moving forward, the Bobai Branch will rigorously implement the Group’s work directives, steadfastly focusing on the core objectives of ensuring personnel safety, maintaining facility stability, and achieving compliance with water quality standards. It will continue to strengthen disaster prevention and risk‑mitigation awareness across all employees, tighten and enforce all safety‑management measures during the flood season, and consistently carry out flood‑control, flood‑prevention, and workplace‑safety initiatives, thereby contributing to the long‑term improvement of the water environment in the Liangjiang River Basin.
