On the afternoon of May 26, a research delegation from the Standing Committee of the Guigang Municipal People’s Congress paid a field visit to the second phase of the Guiping Huahong Wastewater Treatment Plant to assess its wastewater treatment operations. The delegation was accompanied by leaders from the Guiping Municipal People’s Congress Standing Committee, the Guiping Municipal Urban Management and Supervision Bureau, and the Guiping Ecological Environment Bureau of Guigang City, and was warmly received by Lin Taicheng, President and General Manager of Huahong Water Services Group Co., Ltd.
This field survey is part of Guigang City’s 2024 assessment of the environmental situation and the achievement of environmental protection targets, as well as one of the activities under the 2025 “Guigang Environmental Protection Century Campaign.” The survey team visited key sites, including the construction site of Phase II of the Huahong Wastewater Treatment Plant in Guiping City, the MSBR tank, and the effluent discharge outlet, to conduct on-site inspections of the operation of wastewater treatment facilities and the progress of the Phase II expansion project.

Lin Taicheng welcomed the research team and provided a detailed overview of the Huahong Wastewater Treatment Plant in Guiping City, highlighting its operational status, achievements in wastewater treatment, and the progress of its Phase II expansion project. With the support of relevant government departments, the Phase II project was swiftly launched and completed on schedule. Despite multiple challenges—including tight deadlines, limited site space, and adverse weather conditions—the project was meticulously planned and managed, employing phased construction and staggered work schedules. This approach ensured the stable operation of the first phase while efficiently advancing the second-phase expansion, ultimately delivering the project on time. By dismantling aging facilities and optimizing the spatial layout, the project achieved resource integration and enhanced operational efficiency, further strengthening its capacity for emission reduction.
“As a company dedicated to water‑pollution control, how has your firm accelerated the construction of Guiping City’s municipal wastewater‑treatment project and enhanced the city’s wastewater‑treatment capacity?” In response to this question from a reporter at Guigang Radio and Television Station, Lin Taicheng explained: Following the commissioning of Phase II, the Huahong Wastewater Treatment Plant in Guiping now boasts a total treatment capacity of 60,000 cubic meters per day, effectively addressing issues such as pipeline overflows in the old urban area and insufficient treatment capacity during the rainy season. At present, the plant can annually increase COD removal by approximately 1,825 tons, making a significant contribution to improving water quality in the Yujiang River Basin and safeguarding the local ecological environment.

This field visit fully underscores the high priority that leaders at all levels in Guigang City attach to ecological and environmental protection. Moving forward, the Huahong Wastewater Treatment Plant in Guiping City will continue to embrace the concept of green development, steadily advance smart‑water‑management initiatives, uphold pristine waters with even higher standards, and contribute to the region’s efforts to build an ecological civilization.
