On October 5, during the National Day Golden Week, Pingxiang Huahong Wastewater Treatment Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Pingxiang Plant”) received an urgent request for assistance from the Pingxiang Municipal Housing and Urban–Rural Development Bureau: the rainwater pumping station on Jinxiang Avenue under its management had suffered a sudden equipment failure, requiring immediate support from specialized technicians to carry out emergency repairs. If left unaddressed, the situation could result in flooding beneath the railway bridge, rendering it impassable for both pedestrians and vehicles.
At this time, the meteorological authorities had already issued a heavy‑rain warning, making emergency repairs imperative. Upon receiving the notice, Zheng Zhicong, the head of the Pingxiang Plant, promptly dispatched a three‑person core technical team to the site.
Following an on-site inspection, the original stormwater pump was found to be severely damaged due to continuous operation and advanced equipment aging, necessitating immediate replacement. Faced with the imminent threat of heavy rainfall, technicians voluntarily forwent rest and worked around the clock to expedite repairs: dismantling the old unit, installing the new pump housing, and fine-tuning operating parameters. With all tasks carried out in a tightly coordinated and efficient manner, after several hours of nonstop effort, they successfully restored the pumping station’s operations just before the downpour arrived, ensuring that no streets in the station’s service area were flooded and effectively reestablishing the city’s critical “drainage lifeline.”
During this emergency repair operation, the technical team from the Pingxiang Plant demonstrated exceptional professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility, earning recognition from the Pingxiang Municipal Housing and Urban–Rural Development Bureau and underscoring the social commitment and technical expertise of the HuaHong team.
